What is the Tokyo Subscription Concert?

The Tokyo Subscription Concert has been held since the orchestra's founding in 1956. With over 750 performances to date, it truly embodies the tradition of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. Featuring esteemed maestros and soloists, and meticulously selected pieces, the music that resonates in Suntory Hall after meticulous rehearsals is truly the ultimate entertainment and work of art. At times, the lineup may include unfamiliar pieces. But when that happens, simply engage with the music without a second thought. This new experience may even further expand your musical possibilities. That is one of the joys of the Tokyo Subscription Concert. The pre-performance talk, "Today's Highlights," is also highly popular, providing easy-to-understand explanations. We recommend our subscription membership for the Tokyo Subscription Concert, the orchestra's "face." Enjoy a luxurious experience in your own reserved seat at Suntory Hall once a month.

Pre-talk on both days: "Today's highlights"
Friday 18:30~ Saturday 13:20~ *Approximately 15 minutes from 10 minutes after opening time
Each time, we will introduce highlights of the upcoming concert, explanations of the program, and behind-the-scenes insights into the artists.

The next conductor's interview is published in the previous month's program booklet and on our website.
We are also continuously streaming "Understanding the Orchestra in 2 Minutes" on YouTube!
