The Japan Philharmonic was the first professional orchestra to hold subscription concerts in Yokohama. The Yokohama Subscription Concerts, which began in 1973, will celebrate their 2023th anniversary in 50. Known for their friendly and enjoyable programs, this season's Yokohama Subscription Concerts will once again feature a dazzling lineup. Enjoy the unique brilliance of today's leading artists performing classic pieces beloved throughout the ages and around the world.
The Japan Philharmonic Orchestra will celebrate its 70th anniversary in 2026. To mark the occasion, the orchestra will begin its regular concert season in April, in line with various Japanese customs and systems.
In addition, we will be starting our Yokohama regular concert earlier so that you will have more time to enjoy yourself after the show.
Details are as follows:
①Starting from the 2026/2027 season, the Tokyo and Yokohama subscription concerts will be held from April to March of the following year.
The regular concert season, which previously ran from September to July of the following year, will be changed to April to March of the following year starting with the 2026/2027 season.
②Due to the change in the start date of the regular concert season, the period from September 2025 to March 2026 will be designated as a "Transition Period (Pre-70th Anniversary Period)," during which six regular concerts will be held in both Tokyo and Yokohama.
We will notify all members at a later date regarding the renewal date.
③Change in start time for Yokohama Regular Concert: 17:00 → 15:00
The start time of our Yokohama Regular Concerts, which currently start at 5:00 PM, will change to 3:00 PM (doors open at 2:10 PM) starting in the pre-70th anniversary period starting in September 2025. We will also work to expand the "after-events" that we hold after performances as part of Yokohama Cultural Wonderland.
