[Important] Notice of cancellation of visit to Japan by Guest Principal Conductor Neeme Järvi for the Tokyo Subscription Concert in July 2026

Thank you very much for your continued understanding and support of our organization's activities.

We are pleased to announce that our Principal Guest Conductor, Neeme Järvi, who was scheduled to appear at the 782nd Tokyo Regular Concert in July 2026, will no longer be performing.

Järvi was injured in a fall in July of this year and has been working hard to recover. However, from a medical standpoint, it has been decided that he will not be able to travel to Japan for the time being, as it would involve a long-distance flight. Unfortunately, he has had to cancel his visit to Japan.

This is an extremely difficult decision for both the Maestro and the orchestra, as they had been looking forward to their first reunion in 20 years. Maestro Järvi has sent a message to the people of Japan saying, "I sincerely hope that he will be able to return to the Japan Philharmonic in the future." We pray for the Maestro's speedy recovery and look forward to the day when he will be able to return to the Japan Philharmonic's podium once again.

Therefore, the performers and songs for the July performance are currently being adjusted.Subscription ticketWe will start selling the products as scheduled.
