About the Sagawa Yoshio Music AwardHERE
Regarding the Japan Philharmonic Kyushu performanceHERE

Reason for the award:

Japan Philharmonic Orchestra
50th Kyushu Performance Japan Philharmonic Orchestra in Kyusyu 2025
(9 performances in total, from February 8, 2025 at Nagasaki Civic Hall Cultural Hall to February 19, 2025 at Kumamoto Prefectural Theater Concert Hall)

The Japan Philharmonic Orchestra's Kyushu tour, which began in 1975, will celebrate its 50th anniversary in February 2025, taking place in nine cities: Nagasaki, Omuta, Kitakyushu, Oita, Miyakonojo, Kagoshima, Fukuoka, Saga, and Kumamoto. Under the fresh direction of Kar-Chung Wong, who became Principal Conductor in September 2023, the orchestra featured soloists Miyata Dai on cello and Nakamichi Ikuyo on piano, and delivered passionate performances of masterpieces by Elgar, Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, and Chopin, creating a sense of unity with the nearly full audience at each venue.
This Kyushu concert is a unique and unique event planned and run every year by an executive committee made up of local citizens in collaboration with the orchestra, and the participation of local citizens has brought about great results in the spread of music. The fact that it has been held without interruption for 50 long years is highly commendable. We hope that the historic Kyushu concert will continue for many years to come, and that the orchestra's activities, which combine artistic and social contributions, will continue to develop even further as it approaches its 70th anniversary in 2026.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported us.
