A one-day tour to learn and listen to Chopin
~Lecture, final rehearsal observation, performer talk, concert~
Chopin is known as the "poet of the piano." True to his nickname, he was an exceptional figure among the famous musicians of his time, composing almost exclusively for piano. This course will unravel the mystery of Chopin's unique position from the perspective of social and cultural history, through his piano concertos and other works for piano and orchestra. After the lecture, you will enjoy a concert at Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall by "Chopin player" Yukio Yokoyama (piano and conductor), who is celebrating 35 years since becoming the youngest winner of the Chopin International Piano Competition, and the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. This is a rare opportunity to watch the final dress rehearsal and interview the performers.

*After the tour, there will be a short talk between Professor Masayasu Komiya and Yukio Yokoyama.

*Tickets will be given to you at the Yokohama classroom on the day. Please enjoy the performance on your own.

*The tuition fee includes the ticket price for the main performance and S-seat (8,500 yen). Please note that seat reservations and cancellations are not possible after application.
*Due to ticket arrangements, applications will be accepted until Thursday, April 10th.
*Music usage fees are included in the tuition for this course.
