Ifukube Akira has been composing since before the war and has trained many younger composers. He has composed over 300 film scores. Among them, the melody of "Godzilla" is engraved in the hearts of many Japanese people. The lost concerto "Symphonie Concertante for Piano and Orchestra", which Ifukube composed in his hometown of Hokkaido during the war, has been revived for the first time in 55 years. The sheet music, which was said to have been lost in fire, had been sleeping in the NHK archives. This program follows Ifukube as he attends the recording and explores the appeal of his music. Broadcast on November 26, 1997
