The title of the Summer Vacation Concert 50th Anniversary Fanfare has been decided!
To mark the 50th anniversary of its Summer Vacation Concert, the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra commissioned composer Takatomi Nobunaga to compose a commemorative opening fanfare.
We would like to inform you that the title of the work has been decided.

The title "The Door to Music" means the opening of the concert,
The name was chosen with the image of children's first encounter with music in mind.
I'm looking forward to many children listening to it.
Composer: Takatomi Nobunaga
He graduated from the Department of Education, Faculty of Letters, Sophia University in 1994. He has won the Asahi Composition Award (chorus) in 1994, 95, and 99, first place in the composition category of the Sogakudo Japanese Song Competition in 1998, a finalist in the Gen-On New Composer Award (chamber music) in 2000, and second place in the composition category of the Japan Music Competition (chamber music) in 2001. In addition to numerous choral works, his diverse range of compositions includes operas, songs, and instrumental pieces. His major works include "New Songs" (chorus), "Fragments - Based on the Memoirs of the Kamikaze Corps' War Dead" (solo/chorus), "Marimba Concerto: Crossed Dolphin Sonar", "Opera: Mountains and Sea Cats" (commissioned by Matsumoto Civic Opera, libretto and direction by Nao Kato, recipient of the Sagawa Yoshio Music Award Encouragement Prize), and "Opera: Rudolph and Ippaiattena" (commissioned by Opera Theatre Konnyaku-za, libretto by Rin Izumi, direction by Hiromi Tateyama).
