April 29th (Monday, national holiday) Orchestra Teiki will hold an interesting workshop on Mahler's Symphony No. 9 (Michael Spencer)
Participants take the lead in learning by using various approaches to unravel the works featured in the regular concerts
Japan Philharmonic's education program "The orchestra's style is interesting."
This time, the theme will be Mahler's Symphony No. 9.

Michael Spencer
Educator, facilitator, and violinist. Former violinist with the London Symphony Orchestra and former head of education at the Royal Opera House. He has developed and implemented arts education programs around the world, earning high praise from various arts organizations and companies.
In Japan, with the support of the Association of Japanese Symphony Orchestras and the Agency for Cultural Affairs, he has implemented educational programs in various locations with 24 professional orchestras. In 2006, he held a workshop-style concert at Kioi Hall in the presence of Her Majesty the Empress. In 2008, Peter and the Wolf, for which he served as education director, won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.
In recent years, at the request of the British Society for Immunology, he has been creating and implementing arts programs across the UK with the aim of promoting coexistence between scientists, artists, and local communities. His activities were also featured on NHK BS's "The Power of Travel."
