[Obituary] Yuzo Toyama
Conductor and composer Yuzo Toyama passed away on July 11th at the age of 92.
The Japan Philharmonic Orchestra has had the opportunity to perform with you all over the country for many years, and we will never forget the kindness and support you have shown us musically and spiritually, even during difficult times.
In 1982, he was commissioned to write the symphonic poem "Matsura" with donations mainly from the people of Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture, and he also composed "Hana wo Sasageru" as part of the "Japan Philharmonic Series," a continuing project commissioning works from Japanese composers.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your great efforts in the development of our organization over the years, and we offer our deepest condolences.
