The orchestra's teiki is interesting ~A gathering of couples~
The Japan Philharmonic Orchestra's educational program "The Orchestra's Teiki is Interesting" explores the works featured in their regular concerts through a variety of approaches, allowing participants to learn in a participant-centered manner.
This time, the theme will be based on the program for the Tokyo Regular Concert in January, "Bartok: Concerto for Orchestra."
It's okay if you can't read music or play an instrument. By enjoying the workshop and orchestra performance together, you're sure to have fun with music and make new discoveries!
Date: Monday, December 12, 2022, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Venue: Nishiogi Community Center (4-3-2 Momoi, Suginami-ku), gymnasium, etc.
Age: Upper elementary school to university students (around 10-20 years old)
Number of participants: Approximately 30 (first come, first served)

Shunichiro Sato, Yumiko Nakagawa, Tetsuya Osawa, Mutsumi Iha (member of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra), Mikako Hori (interpreter)

Participation fee: 1,500 yen (includes tickets to the Tokyo Regular Concert (January 20th and 21st at Suntory Hall)

*Concert seating will be decided by the Japan Philharmonic

How to apply: Please write your name, age, address, phone number, and number of participants and apply by bringing it to the reception desk on the first floor of the Nishiogi Community Center, by mail, by phone, or by email (nishiogi@tokyu-com.co.jp).

This will be carried out in accordance with the "Guidelines for Preventing the Spread of COVID-19 at Classical Music Performances" created by the Classical Music Performance Management Promotion Council.

Michael Spencer
Educator, facilitator, and violinist. Former violinist with the London Symphony Orchestra and former head of education at the Royal Opera House. He has developed and implemented arts education programs around the world, earning high praise from various arts organizations and companies.
In Japan, with the support of the Association of Japanese Symphony Orchestras and the Agency for Cultural Affairs, he has implemented educational programs in various locations with 24 professional orchestras. In 2006, he held a workshop-style concert at Kioi Hall in the presence of Her Majesty the Empress. In 2008, Peter and the Wolf, for which he served as education director, won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.
In recent years, at the request of the British Society for Immunology, he has been creating and implementing arts programs across the UK with the aim of promoting coexistence between scientists, artists, and local communities. His activities were also featured on NHK BS's "The Power of Travel."
Visiting professor at Ueno Gakuen University and communications director for the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra.
The "orchestral tiki" so far has been interesting.

◆ Orchestra Teiki "Special Edition" <A collaborative project between the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra and Mori Art Museum>
This is a new attempt to hold a workshop based on the themes of the "Simple Forms" exhibition held at the Mori Art Museum and the Tokyo regular concert "Hayashi Hikaru: WINDS" in May 2015.
The event explored new connections between music and art, inspiring each other and opening new doors for music and art enthusiasts.
