[Notice] Notice regarding Japan Philharmonic Orchestra's November performance

Conductor Laureate and Artistic Advisor Alexander Lazarev was scheduled to visit Japan in November, but after much discussion between him and the orchestra, and taking into consideration the current situation in Russia and Ukraine and his own situation as he lives in Moscow with his family, the orchestra has unfortunately decided to cancel his visit.
We appreciate your understanding.
The November performance will be changed as follows:

Friday, November 18th and Saturday, November 19th, 2022: 745th Tokyo Regular Concert
The conductor and program will be changed. Alternative content is currently being determined.
*The dates have been confirmed. Please see the performance page.

Saturday, November 26, 2022: 382nd Yokohama Regular Concert
The conductor will be Mr. Kosuke Tsunoda. There will be no changes to the program.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Mr. Kakuta for accepting the role of substitute.

TSUNODA Kosuke

He completed the Master's course in conducting at the Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School and the State Performer Certification Course at the University of Music Berlin. In 2002, he received the Ataka Prize. In 2006, he won the highest award at the 3rd All-Germany Music University Conducting Competition. In 2008, he won second place at the 4th All-Germany Music University Conducting Competition, which commemorated the 100th anniversary of Karajan's birth. He has performed with orchestras including the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Opera Orchestra, Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, Yamagata Symphony Orchestra, Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, Gunma Symphony Orchestra, NHK Symphony Orchestra, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic, Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra, Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra, Central Aichi Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa, Kyoto Symphony Orchestra, Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra, Japan Century Symphony Orchestra, Osaka Symphony Orchestra, Hyogo Performing Arts Center Orchestra, Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra, and Kyushu Symphony Orchestra.
He was the Conductor of the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra from 2016 to 2020. In 2016, he received the 11th Nagoya Pen Club Music Award. In 2020, he received the 2019 Aichi Prefectural Arts and Culture Encouragement Cultural Newcomer Award and the 36th Nagoya City Cultural Promotion Foundation Art Creation Award. He currently serves as the Principal Conductor of the Central Aichi Symphony Orchestra and the Conductor of the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra, and is expanding his field of activity as one of Japan's most promising young conductors.
