Akan Ainu
Eiko Yamamoto, Midori Toko, Kayo Watanabe, Emi Shimokura, Fukiko Goukon, and Tomoka Nishiyama
The Ainu Kotan ("Kotan" means "village" in the Ainu language) in Lake Akan, Hokkaido, is where Ainu people live their lives, preserving their traditional culture, and each has their own shop where they welcome travelers. This performance will feature a successor to traditional Ainu music who is also active at Lake Akan Ainu Theater "Ikoro" (Japan's first indoor theater dedicated to Ainu culture).

Monks at Daigoji Temple, Kyoto, a World Heritage Site

Daigoji Temple, a World Heritage Site in Kyoto, is an ancient temple that was founded in the 16th year of the Jogan era (874) in Fushimi, Kyoto as a training center for Shingon Esoteric Buddhism. It houses over 7 national treasures and important cultural properties, including the five-story pagoda, a national treasure. This performance will feature chanting of chanting chants that have been passed down at Daigoji Temple.

LOVOT
LOVOT is a robot that is characterized by its lifelike quality, almost like a living creature. When you call its name, it will come over and stare at you, it will remember its caregivers and become attached to them, and it will ask to be held. When you pick it up, it feels slightly warm. Its adorable appearance belies the cutting-edge technology it incorporates, and it has been highly praised, winning numerous awards both in Japan and overseas.

Ryukyu Dance

[Jiutai] Toshimichi Arakaki and Kenta Tanahara (Uta-sanshin), Kitato Ikema (Koto), Satoshi Iritake Nishi (Flute), Natsuko Morita (Huzi)
Toshimichi Arakaki (Associate Professor at Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts) will be leading the performance of the Ryukyu dance "Yanagi" at this concert, along with graduates of the university. Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts is the only university in the world that offers a "Ryukyu Performing Arts Major" in education and research, and is committed to research and human resource development.

Pre-event <MusiCircus at Karajan Square>

Amaljargal Dolgion (horsehead fiddle, khoomi)
Born in Mongolia. Inspired by his father, a horsehead fiddle player, from an early age, he entered the horsehead fiddle specialty department of the Mongolian National School of Music and Dance in 2002. He studied under T. Ganbold, a leading figure in the traditional singing style "khoomei." He came to Japan as an exchange student in 06 and began performing in various parts of the country while studying. In 18, he received the Mongolian National Cultural Merit Award. He has been a member of the MJ Horsehead Fiddle Quartet since 20. In 22, he formed the unit "Mengguang."

Giant Black Cat
This giant Kuroneko object was created as part of Yamato Transport's product promotion campaign and has traveled to 10 cities across Japan. It usually welcomes customers who visit Yamato Transport's logistics facility, Haneda Chronogate.

Hiroshi Saito (Cimbalom)
He is the first Asian percussionist to be awarded the Cimbalom Soloist Diploma. After studying at the Hungarian National Liszt Academy of Music, he graduated with honors from the Cimbalom Department of the Slovak National Banska Bystrica Arts Academy. In 2004, he won first place at the Balacsagyarmat International Competition. After returning to Japan, he has performed with orchestras around the country, including at the Suntory Hall Summer Festival.

NPO Japan-Indonesia-Bali Education and Cultural Association (JIBECA) (gamelan)
JIBECA was established with the aim of fostering rich sensitivity and humanity by creating a place for mutual understanding and exchange through tangible experiences and workshops on folk music and performing arts from around the world, with a focus on gamelan from Bali, Indonesia. Representative: Shigeki Iida (former staff member of the Music Division at Children's Castle).

Hanako Nakamura (sho)
Graduated from the Department of Musicology at the National University of Music. Studied sho under Miyata Mayumi and Tadateru Tadaki, and gagaku ensemble under Shiba Sukeyasu. In 2006, he was a recipient of the Agency for Cultural Affairs' Domestic Training Program for Emerging Artists. In addition to being an active member of the Reigakusha group, he has premiered many sho solo and ensemble works both in Japan and overseas, as well as collaborated with artists in other genres.

Shinya Hashimoto (Serpent)
Tuba, serpent, and ophicleide player. Graduated from the third course at the Paris Conservatoire. Active in the contemporary music scene both in Japan and abroad as an ensemble and soloist. Part-time lecturer at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music. Active in the units "Tokyo Gen-On Keikaku (winner of the 2014 Saji Keizo Prize)" and "Bass Duo."

Michael 'Manish' Robinson (steel pan)
Born in Trinidad and Tobago (the home of the steel pan), he began playing the steel pan from a young age under the guidance of his father, and participated in numerous performance tours both in Japan and abroad as a teenager. In 1993, he came to Japan as a member of the steel pan band at Seagaia in Miyazaki. Since 2008, he has been based in Yokohama, where he teaches steel pan classes, performs, teaches performances, and makes instruments.

Corner Machiko (Matryomin)
Inspired by the movie "Theremin," he studied the theremin under Takeuchi Masami. In 05, he opened his own theremin school, "Theremin University." He has taught over 1,000 students to date. In 07, he released the album "Theremin University." In 08, he published the instruction book "Theremin Study Book." He is currently active as a member of the musical unit "The Poo."
