Japan Philharmonic YouTube New Series! "Understand in 5 Minutes! Introduction to Orchestras for Adults (6 Episodes)" Yoshimichi Okuda x Noriko Murakami

Japan Philharmonic YouTube New Series!

"Understand in 5 minutes! Introduction to the orchestra for adults (6 sessions)"
Music critic Yoshimichi Okuda and film producer Noriko Murakami

In preparation for the new season starting in September, we are launching a YouTube program to help you "enjoy our regular concerts"! Starting from July 6th, we will be releasing a total of six introductory episodes every week.

What is an orchestra's regular concert anyway? Would you like to hear songs you already know?
The board members of orchestras in Japan, as well as in Europe and the United States, include many well-known corporate leaders, but why do orchestras attract so many people?
Yoshimichi Okuda, a music critic with an insider's knowledge of the classical music world, answers simple questions about the orchestra posed by film producer Noriko Murakami, who joined the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra as a council member last year!

Starting in late August, "Japan Philharmonic Tokyo Regular Concert in 5 Minutes!" will be released on YouTube, providing guidance on how to enjoy the program for the 2022/2023 season, which is finally about to begin. We'll provide specific suggestions on how to enjoy each month's program. While the Tokyo Regular Concerts may initially seem like they include less familiar pieces, we'll provide information that will double your enjoyment before the concert, such as why those pieces were included, the love and background behind them, and what to listen for. And finding your favorite musician in the orchestra will make the regular concert even more enjoyable! So, we've also picked out next month's "Featured Instruments (Musicians)." You'll probably be looking forward to the next regular concert. We hope you'll enjoy it!
