Notice of performer changes for the 368th Yokohama Regular Concert and the 392nd Masterpiece Concert in May

Pietari Inkinen (Principal Conductor), who was scheduled to conduct the 368th Yokohama Regular Concert and the 392nd Famous Works Concert, will no longer be able to come to Japan due to entry restrictions related to COVID-19.

In her place, Yuko Tanaka (conductor) will be performing. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Maestro Yuko Tanaka for accepting the role at short notice.
Yuko Tanaka, who has performed with numerous orchestras and is steadily progressing as an opera conductor, will appear with the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra during her temporary return from Paris.
He will deliver works by three composers who are considered to be in the mainstream of German music, under an intelligent and clear baton that is filled with love for music.
Please note that there will be no changes to the program. Thank you for your understanding.

Yuko Tanaka (Conductor)

He graduated with honors from the Master's Program in Conducting at the Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School. After living in Bordeaux and Lyon, France, he currently resides in Paris. He was selected for the Tokyo International Competition for Conducting and a semi-finalist at the Besançon International Conducting Competition. He moved to Germany in 2012. In 2013, he made his international debut at the invitation of the Rijeka Orchestra of the Croatian National Opera. He has performed with orchestras across Japan, including the NHK Symphony Orchestra, the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Osaka Symphony Orchestra. He has also steadily built up a reputation as an opera conductor, conducting in performances such as Verdi's La Traviata with the Fujiwara Opera Company in 2015, Yoshiko Hara's Yosakoi Bushi with the Japan Opera Association (at the New National Theatre in 2017), and Ikuma Dan's Chanchiki with the Nagoya Nikikai Orchestra in 2018.
He was the official assistant to Paavo Järvi, the principal conductor of the NHK Symphony Orchestra, for the 2015-16-17 season. He served as assistant and choral conductor for Dutoit, Eschenbach, Janowski, and others. He also served as choral conductor for the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra under Myung-Whun.
Conductor of Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa from April 2018 to August 2020. Received the 2018 Goto Memorial Cultural Award for New Opera Artists. He continues to further his studies in the conducting department and advanced diploma course at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Musique under Dominique Louis and Julien Masmondet. A ROHM Music Foundation scholarship recipient for 2020.
He has appeared in many media programs, including NHK's "Masterpiece Album" and "LaLaLa Classic."

Mayuko Kamio (violin)

Mayuko Kamio ⒸMakoto Kamiya

He began playing the violin at the age of four. In 2007, he won first prize at the 13th International Tchaikovsky Competition, garnering worldwide attention. The New York Times praised him as "a captivating young performer" and "a brilliant talent." He has performed with major Japanese orchestras, as well as the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, the Russian National Philharmonic Orchestra, the Boston Pops Orchestra, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic, the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the Bavarian State Opera Orchestra, and the Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also collaborated with conductors such as Charles Dutoit, Mstislav Rostropovich, Eliahu Inbal, Vladimir Spivakov, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Jiří Bělohlávek, and Ivan Fischer. In recent years, he has toured South America with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra under Zubin Mehta and Israel with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra under Ludovic Morlot. He has appeared at renowned festivals such as St. Moritz, Colmar, and Verbier. He has also given recitals in New York, Washington, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Frankfurt, and Milan. His recordings include "Paganini: 24 Caprices" and "Tchaikovsky: Violin Concerto" on the RCA Red Seal label, and in the fall of 2012, he released a CD titled "Romantic Sonatas," featuring works by Franck, Brahms, and Strauss.
He has studied under Satoya Chikako, Oguri Machie, Kudo Chihiro, Harada Koichiro, Dorothy DeLay, Kawasaki Masao, and Zakhar Bron. He plays a 1731 Stradivarius "Rubinoff" on loan from the Munetsugu Collection. He has received numerous awards, including the Osaka Prefectural Governor's Award, the Kyoto Prefectural Governor's Award, the 13th Idemitsu Music Award, the Commissioner for Cultural Affairs' Award, and the Hotel Okura Music Award.
