March: Cancellation of Inkinen's visit to Japan and program changes
728th Tokyo Regular Concert (3/5.6)365th Yokohama Subscription ConcertPrincipal conductor Pietari Inkinen, who was scheduled to appear on March 13th, and365th Yokohama Subscription ConcertLukas Vondraczek (piano), who was scheduled to perform on March 13th, will not be able to come to Japan due to government entry restrictions, so the performers and program will be changed.
Inkinen had been making thorough preparations for his first visit to Japan since October of last year, so both he and we are extremely disappointed.
The replacement for the Tokyo Regular Concert in March will be Singaporean conductor Kah Chun Wong, who will be making his first appearance with the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra and is currently in Japan, while Tetsuro Ban will take over for the Yokohama Regular Concert.
We hope you will look forward to this new encounter. Although we were unable to perform together at the Tokyo regular concert in March last year, Mr. Wong now has a resident status in Japan and will remain in Japan for the time being before and after this concert, so we will be able to perform together for the first time.
We will be taking even more thorough infection control measures to ensure that everyone can enjoy the event with peace of mind. We believe even more in the power of music in these circumstances, and we look forward to welcoming you there.
