Her Imperial Highness Princess Aiko graced us with her presence at the "70th Anniversary Special Concert."

Her Imperial Highness Princess Aiko graced us with her presence at the "70th Anniversary Special Concert" held at Suntory Hall on Monday, June 22nd, the anniversary of our founding.

At this performance, under the direction of Principal Conductor Kah-Chung Wong, we performed Mahler's Symphony No. 8, "Symphony of a Thousand." With over 500 performers, including eight soloists, the Japan Philharmonic Association Chorus, the Musashino Chorus, the Tokyo College of Music Chorus, and the Suginami Children's Chorus, and a full house of audience members, it was a special concert commemorating our 70th anniversary.

Her Imperial Highness Princess Aiko enjoyed the magnificent performance, which lasted approximately one and a half hours, to the very end, and offered warm applause after the performance concluded.

After the performance, Her Imperial Highness Princess Aiko had the opportunity to converse with Principal Conductor Kah-Chun Wong, Concertmaster Masaaki Tanokura, Chairman Kunio Ishizuka, and other related parties. Her Imperial Highness showed great interest in the works and the performance, and attentively listened to the performers' explanations, asking questions such as, "Why did you choose Symphony No. 8?"
During the farewell, they also mentioned the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra's "Bringing Music to Disaster-Stricken Areas" initiative and offered kind words.
