[Important Notice] Change in Performers for the June 2026 Yokohama Regular Concert

Thank you very much for your continued understanding and support of the activities of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra.

Violinist Boris Belkin, who was scheduled to perform at the 418th Yokohama Regular Concert on Saturday, June 27, 2026, has unfortunately had to cancel his trip to Japan due to a medical diagnosis regarding his health. We sincerely wish Mr. Belkin a speedy recovery.
Violinist Mun Boha will be performing in this concert, thanks to a strong recommendation from Mr. Belkin and Maestro Junichi Hirokami.
Moon Bo-ha is a rising star from South Korea who is currently attracting worldwide attention, having won prizes in numerous international competitions, including the Junior Division of the Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition, and winning the top prize at the 9th Sendai International Music Competition in 2025.
Please note that there will be no changes to the program of songs due to this change in performers.

Please look forward to this performance, which will feature our new soloist, Moon Bo-ha.

[Message from Boris Belkin]

I am deeply saddened that I have had to cancel my trip to Japan. I sincerely apologize to everyone who was looking forward to the performance.
On the other hand, I am very pleased to introduce Moon Bo-ha, who will be performing in my place. She is the most recent top prize winner of the Sendai International Music Competition, where I served as a judge. Her performance of Bruch's Scottish Fantasy in the final round showcased not only outstanding technique and precise intonation, but also the rich expressiveness of a mature artist, captivating both the judges and the audience. I still vividly remember the emotion I felt.
We are pleased to introduce Moon Bo-ha to you all with confidence and joy. Please give him a warm welcome.

Boris Belkin

[Message from Maestro Junichi Hirokami]

It is regrettable that I will not be able to perform with my dear Maestro Boris this time, but we both agreed to recommend Moon Bo-ha, whom we discovered in Sendai, and I am delighted that you will be able to hear him. He is very talented, and not only is his music wonderful, but his personality is also superb, and it is a special pleasure to be able to give him his debut with our Japan Philharmonic. This will surely be a stage for him to make even greater strides.
I'd also like to thank the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, and I hope everyone will support them.

Junichi Hirokami
