Kazuki Yamada (former principal conductor of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra) receives the 76th Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's Art Encouragement Prize
We would like to offer our heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Kazuki Yamada, who served as the principal conductor of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra for 10 years (2012-2022), who has been awarded the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award in the Music category of the 76th Arts Encouragement Prize in 7.
This award recognizes the maestro's many ambitious programs. We are extremely honored that the 776th Tokyo Subscription Concert with the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra was included. We would like to express our deepest respect for his achievements as a leader in the music world, performing on the highest stages both in Japan and overseas. We are also very proud of his international success.
We have been able to accomplish many ambitious projects together with the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, and we would like to express our deepest gratitude for this, including receiving the New Artist Award in the Music Division of the Arts Encouragement Prize in 28 (the 67th time the awards have been held) for a Mahler cycle. We are proud of the relationship that allows us to call the orchestra "our orchestra," and hope to continue sharing the joy of music together in the future.
