788th Tokyo Subscription Concert [Fri]

Inkinen, who has mastered the mainstream of German music, portrays two heroes with this famous duo, who are old friends.

Former Principal Conductor Pietari Inkinen returns to the Tokyo Regular Concert with his strong bond with the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra.
The soloist is the world-renowned virtuoso Alexander Melnikov. With his precise and passionate performance, he brings out the beauty and power of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 "Emperor." The second half of the concert will feature R. Strauss's "A Hero's Life." The human drama behind the glamour will be fully portrayed with the sound that Inkinen and the Japan Philharmonic have built over many years. It will be a joy to see the conductor and orchestra, who once created music together, reunite on stage. We hope you will look forward to a powerful and vivid revival of the "mainstream" of German music.
