Highlights
A thrilling musical experience filled with tension and silence
Kazuki Yamada, who has built a strong relationship of trust with the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, will take on a profound program where tension and deep emotion intersect. Opening with Yoshio Mamiya's Concerto for Duo (the 16th work in the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra Series, premiered in 1966), the two groups engage in a thrilling exchange of sounds, revealing the sharp and rich resonance of contemporary music. In Bartók's Violin Concerto No. 2, Vilde Frang's supple and sharp soloist will allow you to experience the composer's unique beauty, born of tension and poetry. The program concludes with Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 6 "Pathétique." Waves of sadness and elation wash over the audience, ending in a breathtaking silence and lingering resonance.
