Since childhood, when I first picked up the violin, I have always admired the violin concertos of Mendelssohn and Tchaikovsky. My image of these two pieces has grown with age. Mendelssohn's story unfolds by the shores of a beautiful lake, while Tchaikovsky's profound abyss can be heard while standing in a deep forest; these words deeply move me now. I will stand on stage with my respected Maestro Naoto Otomo, and be enveloped in the rich sound of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, with whom I have nurtured music since my debut, playing my beloved Stradivarius Duranti. I will refine 51 years of memories into "sound" as I head towards the day. To create a "once-in-a-lifetime sound" to share with everyone in the audience on this day.
