781st Tokyo Subscription Concert [Sun]

A festival of sounds with urban sophistication and dazzling stories.

Junichi Hirokami, a friend of the JPO, will take you on a musical journey around the world. The concert kicks off with Gershwin's An American in Paris. Jazz rhythms and elegant melodies resonate lightly, depicting the vibrant streets of Paris through sound. The talented pianist Fazil Say's Violin Concerto, A Thousand and One Nights in Harlem, will be performed by Mion Hattori, who has garnered acclaim for her numerous performances of the piece, vividly weaving the oriental world of Scheherazade. The finale will be Copland's Symphony No. 3, one of America's most iconic 20th-century composers. The magnificent, hopeful melody, celebrating the spirit of freedom, will resonate powerfully in the hearts of listeners.
