70th Anniversary Japan Philharmonic Orchestra's "Three Symphonic Themes!"

A passionate symphony by Akio Watanabe's last disciple
Yukio Fujioka will appear in a special performance celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. As the last beloved disciple of Akio Watanabe, the orchestra's founding conductor, Fujioka is a maestro who continues to stay relevant in the present while inheriting Watanabe's musical vision and traditions. He is also a close friend of the Japan Philharmonic, having performed with them since their youth.
The works featured in this performance - Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5, Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique, and Sibelius's Finlandia - are all deeply connected to the history of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, and symbolize the orchestra's progress as a repertoire cultivated through past great performances and overseas tours. With meticulous ensemble and vibrant expression, the orchestra will delve into the essence of these masterpieces, looking back on its 70-year history while also connecting the sound to the future, providing an emotional evening. We hope you will come and experience this moment for yourself.
