Tadaaki Otaka and Teiko Maebashi - the brilliance of their maturity fills the stage
Tadaaki Otaka and Teiko Maebashi have been leading the Japanese classical music scene for many years. This will be a profound and tasteful evening where "mature art" truly meets. The overture will be Delius's "Road to Paradise," which exudes British lyricism. Its mellow emotion overlaps with the spring air. In the following Mendelssohn's "Violin Concerto," Maebashi's expressiveness will shine through with her clear melody and passionate development.
The second half of the concert will feature "Symphony No. 5" by Sibelius, a composer special to the Japan Philharmonic. Odaka's quiet confidence and delicate baton bring to life a soundscape that evokes the expansiveness of nature and a cosmic scale. We hope you will enjoy the musical world woven by these two veterans.
