Highlights
Tatsuya Shimono leads the mysterious natural beauty of Sibelius's Symphony No. 6
For the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Sibelius holds a special place in the hearts of its founding conductor, Akio Watanabe. While the Sixth Symphony, performed by Sibelius in a relatively simple arrangement, is music worthy of a great master, capturing the grandeur and awe-inspiring beauty of Finland's natural scenery. Based on the music for the film "The Piano," Nyman's melodic and fantastical Piano Concerto features a beautifully resonant solo by Kiyotaka Noda. The opening piece will feature Musa's "Elysium." This work, premiered by the Vienna Philharmonic at the Sagrada Familia in Spain in 2021, is a masterpiece that offers a glimpse into a cosmic, transcendental world.
