Highlights
Gen Ota and Tomohiro Ushida, mastering the romantic style
Conductor Gen Ota is a talented young man, already holding the positions of Conductor of the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra and Principal Conductor of the Kyushu Symphony Orchestra at just 30 years old. Having studied under two great masters, Tadaaki Otaka and Ken Takaseki, Ota is a young maestro who impresses audiences with his master's warmth and profound understanding of scores, as well as the deep insight of a scholar. Meanwhile, the concerto's soloist will be Tomohiro Ushida. Having captivated fans since childhood, Ushida is now a leading figure in the next generation of Japanese piano, an artist who has established a solid worldview that distinguishes himself from flashy performances. Together, these two performers will present two masterpieces representing the Romantic period at this Japan Philharmonic Orchestra Yokohama Regular Concert.
