Highlights

Experience the current Japan Philharmonic as they take on Shostakovich with a new breath of fresh air!

Shostakovich's Symphony No. 11 is a work with which the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra once had a deep connection, having once performed a spectacular performance with Conductor Laureate Lazarev. This time, however, we will perform it with current Principal Conductor Ka-Chung Wong. Through a different approach to Shostakovich than Lazarev, we hope that everyone will enjoy the current state of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. The first half of the program will feature the same composer's Piano Concerto No. 1. This unique concerto features our "solo trumpet" Ottaviano alongside the piano.
