Chitose Yamada
YAMADA Chitose
Graduated from Musashino Academia Musicae. During his time at the university, he was selected as a Founder's Memorial Scholarship recipient every year. Before graduating, he joined the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, and then transferred to the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, marking his 40th year this year. He has studied under the late Motoko Hayashi, Yozo Kakeya, and Laszlo Koté.
| What made you start playing an instrument? | My father's wish. I learned as an adult that my father was a junior student of Akira Ifukube, and admired his violin that was donated to the school. |

This is the first symphony I played in the Sapporo Junior Orchestra when I was 10 years old. Even though it was over half a century ago, I can still remember the fingering. You can see that even positions were not available at that time. |
