Tuba

Born in Akita Prefecture. After graduating from the Faculty of Education and Culture at Akita University, he graduated from the Graduate School of Tokyo University of the Arts. He studied tuba under Takayuki Ikeda, Jun Sugiyama, and Eiichi Inagawa, and chamber music under Satoshi Kamiya. He won first place in the 27th Japan Wind and Percussion Instrument Competition in 2010, and joined the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra that same year.
In December 2015, he was the soloist for "Vaughan Williams: Concerto for Bass Tuba and Orchestra" at the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra's Tokyo Regular Concert.

One of my favorite songs Bruckner: Symphony No. 8

With a majestic sound reminiscent of a huge building, this is an important piece that is almost always included in auditions for tuba players.
When I first heard it, I was taken aback by how long it was and couldn't grasp the whole picture, but the chords of the stacked string and wind instruments were like a giant pipe organ, and the more I listened, the more I discovered new sounds and began to think it was really cool.
The beginning of the fourth movement in particular has an eerie rhythm and a sense of grandeur, like looking up at a cathedral from below, and every time I listen to it I feel like I'm straightening up.
During my time at the University of the Arts, I was thoroughly trained by Professor Inagawa, who had been active at the forefront of Germany's top orchestras, and I also had the opportunity to play this piece alongside Stefan Schulz, bass trombonist of the Berlin Philharmonic, during an orchestral studies seminar.
