Saori Toyoda
TOYODA Saori
He started playing the violin at the age of 6. He graduated from the Department of Instrumental Music at the Kunitachi College of Music and won the Takeoka Award.
He has participated in the Mozarteum Summer Academy, the Asian Youth Orchestra, PMF, and the Affinis Music Festival, and has studied violin under Masayuki Tamoto, Kumiko Hasue, Hitoshi Maezawa, and Den Hori.
He joined the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra in 1996. Currently, he mainly performs with the orchestra, but also plays chamber music with colleagues both inside and outside the orchestra, and teaches music lovers.
| What made you start playing an instrument? | It was her mother's wish that she would be able to enjoy playing in an ensemble with family and friends even as an adult. I first became familiar with orchestral music in the youth orchestra when I was in elementary school, and from high school onwards I spent my student days competing in string ensembles with fellow students, which naturally led me to aim for a career in an orchestra. |
