One of my favorite songs Mozart: Symphony No. 41 "Jupiter"

As a bassoonist, I have many favorite pieces, but as someone who loves old music, I think my favorites are Mozart's pieces, which are representative of the classical period.
It is well known that Mozart was an incredible genius who composed over 900 pieces in all forms, including piano pieces, chamber music, concertos, symphonies, and even operas, in his short life of just 35 years. However, what I have always felt in the Mozart pieces that I have come into contact with as an orchestral musician is that they provide a basso continuo role and a dizzying array of wonderful melodies.
At a recent concert, we played Symphony No. 41, Jupiter. One of the joys of the bassoon is that it can act as a basso continuo, driving the orchestra behind the scenes alongside the cello and double bass, while also being able to play many beautiful melodies as a solo woodwind instrument. This is one of the most rewarding aspects of the bassoon, even among orchestral instruments.
