One of my favorite songs Richard Strauss: "The Nobleman"

Richard Strauss's music is popular for its gorgeous works, which are large-scale, gorgeous, romantic, and emotional, or that express the grandeur of nature, but "The Nobleman" was composed as incidental music for a small theater. While the number of performers is significantly reduced, a variety of instruments are used, and each voice part is clearly conveyed. Furthermore, the concertmaster is required to perform a solo as difficult as a concerto, so I remember spending months preparing when I was asked to play it for the first time in a concert.
The story is based on a comedy that humorously depicts the uncoolness of the protagonist, a self-made merchant who desperately wants to become a nobleman but always tries to show off, only to quickly fail.
