Hiromasa Matsuoka

OboeAssistant Principal

Born in Ibaraki Prefecture. Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts. Studied oboe under Tsuyoshi Kono, Yasuhiro Yamamoto, and Yoko Kojima, and chamber music under Masaharu Yamamoto. Joined the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra in 1992. Won a prize in the oboe category at the 10th Japan Wind and Percussion Instrument Competition. Vice Principal Oboe of the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra.
