He started playing the trumpet at the age of 10.
Graduated from Tokyo College of Music and received the Excellence Award at graduation.
He studied trumpet under the late Yukio Kaneishi and Susumu Kitagawa.
Appeared at the 1st Brass Newcomers Concert (sponsored by Yamaha).
In 1990, he joined the Japan Philharmonic Orchestra.

| One of my favorite songs | Suite "Planets" I knew the melody in the middle of Jupiter, but when I found out that it was part of a song called "Jupiter," I immediately went out and bought the record (LP). I was in junior high school. I listened to it until it literally wore out. There's no doubt that this was what got me hooked on orchestral music. |
